The leading debate every year seems to be legalizing marijuana and with each passing year, it’s in the light more and more. Me personally, I’m a big supporter in the legalization of marijuana and I won’t hide it at all. I’m very passionate about it because it’s honestly ridiculous to keep a plant illegal when you have a poison liquid (alcohol) legal. Then you have the drinkers looking down on potheads and not all of them, but a lot of them do and it’s hypocritical. I defend potheads, I’ll stand up for Mary Jane any day, and I bring so much passion into it and it’s amazing how a leaf can do that to people whether you’re for it or against it. Here is why marijuana should be legalized:
· The United States spends more than $50 billion dollars a year in the failure called the War on Drugs for SMALL amounts of marijuana on people who haven’t done anything criminal like. Them putting marijuana smoke in their lungs does no harm to anybody else. State economies and the federal economy need money and their blowing money on people who aren’t harming anybody.
· Our current president, Barack Obama, has admitted to doing marijuana AND cocaine use, but yet, he is against legalization of marijuana? Hypocrite, much?
· President Richard Nixon started the War on Drugs and then STEALS which is an actual CRIMINAL violation. HYPOCRITE.
· President Ronald Reagan was heavy on for the War on Drugs. What did he do? Put crack in ghettos. Can you say, HYPOCRITE?
· President George W. Bush did cocaine AND alcohol, but yet is against legalization of marijuana. HYPOCRITE!
· President Bill Clinton? ANOTHER pot smoker! Did he support legalization of marijuana? No, he did not. ANOTHER HYPOCRITE!
· If you do not have the right to put anything you want in your body, then you are not living in a free country. Get the memo, America?
· Why put somebody in prison for smoking marijuana and then have the taxpayers support that person through their sentence? It’s just a waste of money.
· If a guy can do marijuana, get up the next morning and go to work, what’s the problem?
· You think the U.S. government is looking out for you? Incorrect. This “War on Drugs” is actually profiting them. They make more money off of your taxes from this “war” than they would revenue. It’s not about the people, it’s about their pockets. Wake up, people. They don’t care if somebody is doing drugs or not. They just like making money for THEIR pockets from YOU, the taxpayer.
· Legalize marijuana and crime decreases. It’s that simple.
· Marijuana actually helps out patients with cancer, AIDS, depression, and glaucoma. It’s classified as a MEDICAL PLANT and the government STILL puts sick people in jail! That’s a huge problem.
· The states should have the jurisdiction with this issue. That’s constitutional. Look up the 10th amendment.
· Leaders from around the world are telling Obama to legalize marijuana because they even see that the War on Drugs is a failure, not only in the United States, but also in the WORLD.
· The U.S. jail and prison population is 60% non-violent offenders. Do you see a problem with that? Jails are overpopulated. Legalize marijuana and decriminalize other drugs and the jail system will be more organized and useful.
· The War on Drugs is killing people! Stop it now and you can reduce the murder rate, the incarceration rate, corruption, addressing the increased drug usage, and that would defund the drug cartels!
· Since the War on Drugs began, the U.S. government has spent over $1 TRILLION and it’s failed. That’s another problem. That $1 TRILLION could have went to education, jobs, or something more useful.
· Since the War on Drugs began, drug use (marijuana, cocaine, opium) has went UP. FAILURE!
· California actually spends more money on prisons than they do education. Does anybody see a problem with that?
· Much of the violence that’s going on in Mexico and the United States is associated with marijuana. Legalize marijuana and that violence will end. The drugs don’t cause the violence, it’s the prohibition of the drugs.
· Most of the government propaganda that’s against marijuana is lies. One of the lies? It’s not beneficial to medical patients. That’s been proved a lie.
· Just because you legalize drugs, doesn’t mean that more people are going to do it. Nobody is making somebody smoke a joint!
· Remember the study that says marijuana kills brain cells? The study was back in 1968 on monkeys to show that, but what they didn’t tell you was, they were suppose to be giving the monkeys three joints a day for six months, but they forced 20 joints into each money without the right amount of oxygen in a time period of three days, so they starved them of oxygen, which killed the brain cells and they told the world this. Three years ago was when this corruption was found out. It’s government propaganda!
